Job Overview

A law firm seeks a remote Consumer Defense and Debt Resolution Attorney licensed in Georgia to provide legal representation and limited-scope assistance to consumer clients involved in debt collection lawsuits. This position is based in Southfield, MI, but allows for telecommuting from a designated remote workspace.

Duties

• Represent and defend clients in collection cases initiated by creditors or debt buyers.
• Provide limited-scope legal assistance, including reviewing and editing pro se answer drafts.
• Oversee limited debt resolution programs, evaluate settlement offers, and complete file assessments.
• Option to attend hearings in person or coordinate with local coverage counsel.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
• At least 5 years of prior civil litigation experience.
• Experience in consumer debt defense and/or collections preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active Georgia Bar membership.

• Proficient in using computers and basic software.
