The role requires expertise in patent preparation and prosecution, specifically in the areas of medical devices and mechanical engineering. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a mandatory requirement.

Duties:

• Conduct patent searches and analyze prior art to assess patentability.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.
• Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to gather necessary information for patent filings.
• Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Assist in patent litigation support, as needed.

Requirements:

• A degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering is required.
• Alternatively, other engineering disciplines coupled with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products are acceptable.
• Admission to the USPTO is mandatory.
• 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience is preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
