Job Title: Pre-Suit/Intake Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking an experienced Pre-Suit/Intake Attorney to join its growing team. This position offers an opportunity to lead the intake and pre-suit departments, providing expert legal counsel while managing cases and overseeing the activities of case managers. The Pre-Suit/Intake Attorney will play a crucial role in ensuring the firm’s case selection process is rigorous and efficient, contributing to the firm’s commitment to providing top-tier service and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Duties:

• Offer legal guidance and advice to Intake and Pre-Suit departments, clients, and case managers.
• Manage and evaluate a caseload, including overseeing three pre-suit case managers.
• Work closely with department heads to set and review goals, ensuring compliance with legal standards and optimizing case handling.
• Assess potential new cases, providing insight into the firm's decision to take on or decline cases based on merit and alignment with practice areas.
• Participate in team meetings to track progress, identify opportunities for department improvements, and streamline processes.
• Lead case settlement discussions, ensuring legal matters are resolved efficiently and effectively.
• Participate in firm marketing and team-building events.
• Maintain financial spreadsheets to track team productivity and department goals.
• Collaborate with senior management to implement operational and procedural improvements.
• Hold weekly meetings with case managers to review case progress and make decisions on litigation or referral.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Florida Personal Injury Plaintiff law.
• Proven track record of handling pre-suit cases, settlements, and managing legal teams.
• In-depth knowledge of personal injury law and case management.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate with other departments and clients effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and achieve the department's financial and operational goals.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound legal judgments and analyze case merits quickly.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Florida Bar Membership in good standing is required.

Skills:

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
• Experience with pre-suit settlements, intake procedures, and legal document preparation.
