Associate Counsel

Kitson & Partners (K&P), a leading Florida residential and commercial real estate development company, seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented associate counsel with 5+ years of relevant professional experience to join its Corporate Legal Department is Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This position is responsible for supporting the legal function with a diverse range of transactional responsibilities impacting the Company’s business divisions including real estate development, commercial development, leasing, country club, and corporate business activities.

Responsibilities:

• Provides high quality legal services in support of all areas of K&P’s business.
• Drafts and/or reviews a variety of contracts, including construction-related contracts, service contracts, professional/consulting agreements, procurement agreements, technology/software services agreements, and a wide array of other vendor agreements.
• Works cross-functionally with the Finance, Development, Commercial, Permitting and Construction teams on legal work for projects from inception through completion.
• Provides legal support for all Babcock real estate and leasing transactions
• Acts as developer legal liaison with the Babcock Ranch Residential Association / Babcock Ranch Commercial Association.
• Assists with review of commercial lease agreements, lease extensions, letters of intent, subordination, tenant estoppels and other associated real estate documents as required.

Skills and abilities:

• Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly, and the desire to assume a high degree of responsibility.
• Strong management skills
• Generalist in real estate, with demonstrated background in complex real estate transactions, development and leasing
• Member of the Florida bar with 5+ years of practice and focus on real estate leasing, development and construction contracting.
• Corporate, financing background preferred.

Compensation & benefits:

K&P offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, long-and short-term disability, and life insurance coverage along with an FSA, a 401(k) Plan and Roth 401(k) Plan. We provide reimbursement for CLE requirements. We currently allow a Wednesday-only, remote Flexible Work Arrangement with in-person, onsite requirement Mon – Tues and Thurs – Friday.
