Job Overview

A growing multi-state law firm specializing in creditors' rights is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney licensed in Indiana. This role involves attending court hearings (virtually and/or in-person), preparing legal pleadings, conducting legal research, and negotiating settlements in civil cases throughout the state. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong work ethic and an interest in specialized litigation to join a remote-first team.

Location

• grand Rapids, MI

Duties

• Attend 5–15 civil court hearings per week (virtual and/or in-person) across Indiana

• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings and motions

• Perform legal research to support case development and trial preparation

• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel

• Communicate regularly with clients and firm attorneys regarding case updates

• Interpret and apply laws and regulations related to creditors’ rights

• Maintain accurate case files and report activity to managing attorneys

Requirements

• 0–3 years of legal experience

• Reliable transportation for court appearances, as needed

• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet strict deadlines

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Indiana

• Additional licensure in MT, MI, or OH is a plus

Skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and legal precedent

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Windows, LexisNexis, and/or Westlaw

• Detail-oriented and capable of working independently in a remote setting

• Team player with professional interpersonal communication skills
