Assistant Municipal Prosecutor

The candidate's duties entail managing all aspects of a caseload of Domestic Violence misdemeanor cases. Responsibilities include screening pre-arraignment cases, drafting and negotiating sentencing resolutions, preparing and conducting trials, and daily court hearings including arraignment, sentencing, restitution hearings, etc. May include some motion and/or appellate work. Further work includes reviewing, evaluating, and compiling evidentiary materials, occasional weekend duty, and responding to inquiries for information and assistance from the general public, APD, outside attorneys, witnesses, and victims. It is also expected that they will participate in out-of-office training events and other agencies. Although assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit, will also cover General Trial (non-DV) court hearings for the office. Must enjoy a fast-paced office, embrace multitasking, and be a team player.
