A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in West Hills, CA. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a motivated attorney to join a growing practice. The successful candidate will represent clients in unlawful detainer and other civil proceedings, as well as administrative hearings with the City of Los Angeles and the rent control board.

Duties

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
• Advocate for landlords and affordable housing providers in housing-related issues.
• Engage in motion practice, including drafting complaints and responsive pleadings.
• Draft and argue motions in court.
• Propound and respond to discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare and draft legal documents.
• Advise clients on business and legal transactions.
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.

Requirements

• Prior civil litigation experience preferred.
• Experience in unlawful detainer preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaker preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a licensed State Bar of California member.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed member of the State Bar of California.

Skills

• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in legal research and writing.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
