Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a talented Trademark Associate to join its Intellectual Property team in San Francisco. The firm is looking for an attorney with 2+ years of hands-on trademark prosecution experience. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement, and will be comfortable handling domestic and international trademark matters. The position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual capable of managing a busy practice while collaborating effectively within a team.

Location:

• San Francisco, CA

Duties:

• Conduct and evaluate U.S. and international trademark clearance searches
• Draft identification of goods/services and evaluate specimens and Statements of Use
• Respond to substantive office actions before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
• Advise on Madrid Protocol filings
• Conduct trademark enforcement investigations, including drafting cease-and-desist letters, takedown notices, and negotiating settlement and coexistence agreements
• Draft trademark, copyright, and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) licenses and assignments
• Provide copyright counseling and filing services
• Handle domain name enforcement, including drafting UDRP complaints
• Review and clear content for use in social media and digital marketing
• Offer diligence and corporate transaction support on trademark, copyright, and domain matters
• Collaborate with team members and work closely with clients

Requirements:

• 2+ years of trademark prosecution experience with a focus on clearance, prosecution, and enforcement
• Law firm experience required
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High level of professionalism in client and colleague interactions
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage competing responsibilities
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Education:

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be admitted or eligible for admission to the state bar in California or New York
