A leading national law firm is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney with 4 to 7 years of experience to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. This role involves working on high-profile and complex insurance matters, including coverage disputes and reinsurance litigation. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, innovative thinkers who are comfortable operating both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.

Location

Duties

• Represent insurers in high-stakes litigation involving:

  • Professional liability insurance

  • General liability insurance

  • Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance policies

• Draft and review pleadings, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda

• Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including depositions and motion practice

• Attend and present in court as appropriate to experience level

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies

• Interface with clients and contribute to case management

• Participate in business development efforts and client relationship cultivation

• Support case teams in navigating complex reinsurance and coverage disputes

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation

• Strong understanding of policy interpretation and insurance coverage issues

• Experience in client management and the independent handling of litigation tasks

• Familiarity with high-exposure coverage matters and reinsurance disputes preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines effectively

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• Must be in good standing with the relevant state bar

Skills

• Exceptional legal research and analytical writing abilities

• Proficiency in civil litigation tasks, including motion drafting and deposition preparation

• Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills

• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop strategic approaches

• Experience with legal research databases such as LexisNexis or Westlaw
