Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a highly experienced senior associate or junior partner to join its Environmental Transactions practice. The role involves managing environmental and energy-related legal matters for a wide array of corporate and financing transactions. This position is particularly suited for attorneys with deep knowledge of environmental statutes, regulatory schemes, and the energy industry. The successful candidate will provide counsel on environmental diligence, disclosure, compliance, and restructuring, contributing to major transactional and regulatory work across multiple jurisdictions.
Location:

Duties:
Lead environmental due diligence for corporate and financing transactions
Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in transaction and financing agreements
Prepare environmental disclosure sections for SEC filings and other regulatory documents
Conduct legal research on advanced topics in environmental and energy law
Provide strategic advice on environmental compliance and restructuring issues
Collaborate with deal teams and advise clients across multiple industries, including energy
Requirements:
6 to 8 years of experience in environmental and energy law
Substantial background in corporate transactions and environmental regulatory compliance
Strong command of federal and state environmental laws and regulatory frameworks
Demonstrated experience in the energy sector and understanding of its legal environment
Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead matters independently
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Strong academic performance required
Law school transcript must be available upon request
Certifications:
Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong negotiation and contract drafting abilities
High-level legal research and analytical skills
Ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional teams
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
