A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join their Settlement Team in California. This remote position involves guiding cases through the settlement process, ensuring compliance with state and court requirements, and assisting clients in receiving due compensation. The role is crucial in delivering justice to clients who have suffered significant losses.

Duties

• Manage the firm's Fire Practice settlement teams, supervising and mentoring attorneys and staff.
• Draft, review, and finalize legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor compliance with settlement terms, including disbursement procedures and deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to state-specific laws and court procedures.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategy and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to improve processes and integrate legal technologies.
• Communicate with clients to explain legal processes and case updates.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• 5+ years of experience in litigation.
• Management experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe; familiarity with legal tools like ShareFile, PACER, and Lexis.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
• Familiarity with E-Discovery and legal technologies.
