A law firm seeks a Removal Defense Associate Attorney in Miami Beach. Duties

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and on appeal.
  • Appear in court with clients via WebEx and/or in-person.
  • Travel as needed for court hearings.
  • Communicate with clients and prepare them for hearings.
  • Support clients with USCIS interviews, ERO visits, ISAP, and ICE check-ins.
  • Prepare and manage case filings, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Review, edit, and prepare briefs, motions, and applications.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Stay updated with changes in immigration law and policy.
  • Develop strategic solutions to complex legal issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Uphold professionalism, ethics, and client advocacy.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a removal defense attorney.
  • Experience representing clients in individual hearings.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to hearings.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM).

Certifications

  • Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.

Skills

  • Legal research, writing, and advocacy.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
