Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel attorney to join the Public and Institutional Banking and Finance Practice Group in the Banking and Financial Services Department in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in transactional law at a large or medium-sized firm.

Duties

• Represent lenders in commercial lending transactions, including secured and unsecured term loans and revolving lines of credit.
• Prepare reimbursement agreements, letters of credit, and liquidity facilities for public finance transactions.
• Engage with municipal finance, banking, and securities underwriting, including bond issuance and municipal obligations.
• Work with nonprofit hospitals, universities, and cultural institutions on various financing projects.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in transactional law.
• Strong academic credentials and superior interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
• Commitment to client service and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Professional presence and flexibility in work situations.
• Membership in good standing of the appropriate state Bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar membership in the relevant state.
