Duties

• Request discovery and conduct case investigations.
• Interview police officers and witnesses.
• File and argue pretrial motions.
• Handle misdemeanor and felony trials.
• Work closely with investigators.
• Attend court appearances in superior, justice, and city courts.
• Communicate with clients to guide them through criminal procedures and keep them informed on case status.
• Conduct in-office and telephonic consultations.
• Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure a professional, efficient flow of cases.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a public defender's office, county/city attorney's office, or a criminal defense law firm in Arizona preferred.
• Proven experience handling misdemeanor and felony cases.
• Candidates without criminal law experience are encouraged to apply.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona.
