Job Overview:
A well-established family law firm based in downtown San Diego is currently seeking a skilled Discovery Attorney to support complex family law litigation. This role is ideal for an attorney with extensive experience in discovery strategy and analysis, who thrives on the transactional elements of litigation and has a strong commitment to precision, efficiency, and client advocacy. Candidates with a Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) designation are highly preferred.

Duties:
Collaborate with the litigation team and in-house CPA to develop strategic discovery plans
Analyze financial records and other documents obtained through discovery
Take and defend depositions in family law matters
Engage in meet-and-confer communications with opposing counsel
Litigate discovery disputes in court when necessary
Provide high-quality legal work with a focus on accuracy and detail
Support overall litigation strategy with data and findings from discovery processes
Requirements:
Extensive experience in discovery-related aspects of litigation
Proven track record in family law practice
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative legal team
Exceptional analytical and organizational abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the State of California
Certified Family Law Specialist (preferred, not required)
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of family law procedures and discovery rules
Skilled in document analysis, deposition handling, and motion drafting
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Proficient in legal research tools and case management systems
Ability to interpret complex financial documents with the support of internal CPAs
