Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level Associate Attorney (2nd to 4th year) to join its Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity practice group. This role focuses on advising innovative clients through major cybersecurity incidents, regulatory compliance, and data-related issues in complex transactions. Ideal candidates will play a key role in incident response and counseling, supporting companies across various industries including technology, software, AI, and cybersecurity. Recruitment is being conducted on behalf of the firm.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Advise clients in connection with cybersecurity incidents and data breaches

• Provide counseling on privacy and cybersecurity legal compliance (U.S. and international)

• Support due diligence and compliance in technology transactions, mergers, and acquisitions

• Guide cybersecurity companies on legal issues related to threat intelligence and security research

• Collaborate with teams across practice areas on strategic corporate transactions

• Draft incident response plans, privacy policies, and regulatory filings

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of relevant legal experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or technology law

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance, privacy frameworks, and incident response

• Prior experience in a law firm, regulatory agency, or in-house legal department preferred

• Experience with cybersecurity investigations or counseling is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction

• CIPP or similar privacy certification is a plus

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical capabilities

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized
