Job Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its Telecommunications Practice Group in Washington, D.C. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to engage in regulatory matters involving telecommunications and spectrum-based technologies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in communications law, regulatory procedures, and FCC-related matters, along with a demonstrated interest in emerging telecom technologies. Location

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties

  • Advise clients on telecommunications regulatory issues under the Communications Act and FCC regulations

  • Engage with FCC processes and procedures, including filings and agency advocacy

  • Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, regulatory comments, and legal documents

  • Support clients with compliance, licensing, spectrum management, and transactional matters

  • Monitor developments in telecommunications policy and emerging technologies

  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to support interdisciplinary matters

  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients and provide business-focused legal guidance

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of telecommunications law experience

  • Experience with FCC regulatory matters or prior FCC or law firm background preferred

  • Strong understanding of the Communications Act and associated regulations

  • Interest in telecom policy, innovation, and spectrum-related issues

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Washington, D.C. Bar (required)

  • Excellent legal research and writing capabilities

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Sound business judgment and problem-solving abilities
