Litigation Associate

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an experienced litigation associate with at least 4 years of broad-based litigation experience to join its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, analytical, and drafting skills, along with a consistent attention to detail and excellent verbal and interpersonal abilities. The role requires experience in arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial. Knowledge of commercial litigation issues such as breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duty is essential. Experience in intellectual property matters is also a plus.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Handle a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duty.

• Argue motions and take and defend depositions.

• Prepare and manage cases for trial.

• Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and analyze case materials.

• Work with clients to develop litigation strategies and manage case progression.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to achieve favorable case outcomes.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of broad-based litigation experience.

• Specific experience in commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duty.

• Experience in intellectual property matters is a plus.

• Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills.

• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to argue motions and take and defend depositions.

• Admission to the California Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in the state of California.

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and trial preparation.

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and analysis.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Benefits:

• Total compensation (base salary plus discretionary bonus) ranging from $385,000 to $425,000, based on performance.

• Discretionary bonus opportunities based on hours billed and collected.

• Additional bonus for work originated by associates.
