The candidate will perform legal research and provide advice on a variety of legal issues relating to the Company’s benefit plans which include, but are not limited to, qualified and nonqualified deferred compensation plans, welfare benefit programs (e.g., self-insured health and Code Section 125 plans, among others), and independent contractor deferred commission plans. Will support the AVP, Corporate Legal and the Human Resources department on all legal matters relating to the Company’s benefit plans, including benefit plan design and administration. Advise business units on questions relating to all aspects of the Company’s benefit plans, including but not limited to plan eligibility and coverage, nondiscrimination testing, fiduciary matters, mid-year election changes, employee deferrals and company contributions, and tax implications of plan features. Advise business units on and assist with plan correction matters as needed, including EPCRS and VCP filings. Draft plan-related documents, including plan amendments, disclosures (summary plan descriptions and summaries of material modifications), communications and other materials as required. Monitor and advise business units on regulatory developments and their impact on the Company’s benefit plans. Draft and review materials that relate to the Company’s benefit plans for various board and committee meetings and present those materials as needed. Supervise outside employee benefits counsel. Support the Corporate Legal team in other areas as needed, which may include executive compensation, treasury, and tax-related projects, among others. Occasional business travel is required. Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
