Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm located in Hartford, CT, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its medical malpractice litigation team. Duties:

• Manage a full caseload of medical malpractice defense matters from intake through resolution

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and legal correspondence

• Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in trials

• Engage in strategic case planning in collaboration with senior attorneys and experts

• Provide clients with timely updates and thorough case assessments

• Research and draft legal memoranda to support case positions

• Support mediation and arbitration efforts with effective advocacy

• Meet all internal deadlines and court-imposed timelines

Requirements:

• 1-6 years of experience handling medical malpractice or healthcare defense litigation

• Admitted to practice in Connecticut or eligible via a qualifying UBE score

• Demonstrated experience in motion practice and managing written discovery

• Previous judicial clerkship experience is considered a plus

• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to procedural detail

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Connecticut Bar membership (or eligibility for admission through UBE score)

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and analytical abilities

• Strong verbal communication and advocacy skills

• Proficiency in legal research platforms and case management tools

• Ability to build and maintain client relationships through responsive and professional service

• Time management and multitasking under litigation timelines
