Duties:

  • Advocate for clients in deportation and removal defense cases before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct in-depth client interviews and case assessments

  • Draft motions, briefs, and supporting legal documentation for court filings

  • Analyze statutes, administrative codes, and case law relevant to immigration and removal matters

  • Counsel clients on legal options and likely outcomes based on case specifics

  • Work closely with senior legal staff to formulate litigation and negotiation strategies

  • Stay current with evolving immigration laws, policy changes, and court decisions

  • Participate in legal consultations and strategy sessions

  • Handle multiple active cases efficiently while meeting procedural deadlines

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction, with preference for admission in Florida, California, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania

  • At least 2 years of focused experience in immigration law, particularly in removal defense

  • Spanish fluency strongly preferred; Portuguese language skills a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to handle legal research, complex writing, and courtroom advocacy

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service

  • Self-driven, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in any U.S. state (required)

  • Admission in Florida, California, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania is considered advantageous

Skills:

  • Legal drafting and litigation proficiency

  • Strategic case planning and courtroom representation

  • Multilingual communication (Spanish highly desirable)

  • Knowledge of USCIS, EOIR, BIA, DOS, and DOL procedures

  • Advocacy for underserved or immigrant communities
