Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Associate to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of verifiable experience in commercial real estate law within a mid-to-large law firm setting. This position involves a broad range of real estate work, including leasing, acquisitions, sales, due diligence, and closings. The role requires a detail-oriented, highly organized attorney with strong drafting skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Duties:
Draft and negotiate leases from both landlord and tenant perspectives
Prepare property acquisition, sale documents, and related transactional agreements
Conduct due diligence reviews including title, zoning, environmental, lease, and survey reviews
Draft and review real estate documents such as:
Easements
Restrictive covenants
Estoppels
SNDAs
FIRPTA certificates
Deeds and closing documents
Monitor transactional deadlines and prepare critical date schedules
Handle title and survey review, title objections, and compliance with ALTA standards
Oversee and conduct closings, including settlement statement review and post-closing follow-up
Draft correspondence regarding lease disputes, claims, and defenses
Support senior attorneys and coordinate with staff and paralegals on transaction management
Maintain organized client files and ensure accurate documentation
Requirements:
2–5 years of continuous and specific experience in commercial real estate law
Experience in a law firm with at least 50 attorneys strongly preferred
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and professionally
Proven ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Bachelor's degree required
Certifications:
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one of the following states:
Massachusetts
Rhode Island
New York
North Carolina
South Carolina
Florida
Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent drafting and legal document preparation abilities
High-level proficiency with due diligence processes and transactional workflows
Understanding of state and federal court procedures and real estate regulations
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage confidential matters with discretion
Strong initiative and sound professional judgment
