The role involves handling litigation from initial investigation through resolution while working in a collaborative and supportive setting.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including tort defense, employment disputes, malpractice claims, and commercial litigation

• Develop and execute case strategies from inception through trial or settlement

• Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials

• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other court documents

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and support staff to ensure effective case management

• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case progress and outcomes

• Analyze legal and factual issues and provide risk assessments and legal opinions

Requirements:

• Experience in civil litigation defense

• Strong litigation skills, including courtroom experience and case strategy development

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases independently

• Familiarity with Kentucky and/or Indiana civil procedure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• An active license to practice law in Kentucky is required

• Indiana bar admission is preferred
