Database Administrator

The candidate will manage SQL Server instances and databases across platforms including SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure SQL Database. Refine and automate regular processes. Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system. Research, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade platforms and software. Provide recommendations and technical assistance in evaluating new systems. Responsible for implementation, maintenance and technical support of purchased and custom developed software packages and integrations, which often requires working directly with vendors, 3rd party consultants and in-house developers. Assist with the resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities. Responsible for level 3 support and troubleshooting of assigned applications. Monitor the health of various systems and data integrity, responding to alerts that may be warnings of pending critical issues. Assist in evaluating the business relevance and requirements of applications and upgrades under consideration. A bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field is required. Should have 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience. Proficiency with Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server is needed. Experience with Azure SQL Database is preferred. Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are needed. Should be team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.
