Job Overview:

A reputable law firm based in Sacramento, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. Duties:

• Represent clients in insurance defense and civil litigation matters
• Handle case management, including research, discovery, depositions, and pre-trial motions
• Attend and represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials (both in-person and virtual)
• Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and trial preparation
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case updates and legal matters
• Assist with negotiating settlements and resolving disputes

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or related fields
• Active membership in the California State Bar or eligibility for admission
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with legal research and technical platforms for case management

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar (or eligible for admission)

Skills:

• Legal research and writing proficiency
• Effective communication and client relations
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Trial preparation and litigation experience is a plus
• Proficient in legal technology platforms (e.g., case management, document review tools)
