Duties

• Provide legal counsel and advice on employment law matters to business clients

• Participate in employment litigation defense, including:

  • Drafting pleadings and motions

  • Preparing and responding to discovery

  • Conducting legal research

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Engaging in negotiations and strategy development

• Contribute to case strategy from inception to resolution

• Attend court hearings as necessary

• Support firm marketing and networking efforts

• Maintain timely and professional communication with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• 0–2 years of legal experience (employment law or litigation experience preferred)

• Familiarity with California employment laws and court procedures

• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Strong sense of initiative and accountability

• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar (or pending admission)

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Tech-savvy; familiarity with legal software like Clio is a plus

• Ability to maintain professionalism and leadership presence in all settings
