Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate for its New York office. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with 4 to 7 years of experience in complex commercial, class action defense, and financial services litigation. The successful candidate will possess strong writing and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate proficiency in case management within a collaborative, cross-office team environment.

Duties

• Analyze issues and conduct research for drafting briefs on sophisticated legal matters.
• Prepare for and participate in motion arguments.
• Prepare outlines and exhibits for depositions; taking or defending depositions is advantageous.
• Engage in trial preparation, including creating outlines and exhibits for examinations.
• Work strategically and analytically with clients.
• Manage cases, including written discovery responses, document review, and expert collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience in complex litigation and legal research.
• Strong case management and client interaction skills.
• Law Review/Journal and/or Moot Court experience preferred.
• Solid academic performance.
• Good standing with the NY State Bar.
• Admission to the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
