Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm, located in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a skilled Technical Advisor to support its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice, with a focus on Electrical Engineering and Software. This role will contribute to the firm’s cutting-edge work in the rapidly advancing fields of wireless communication, patent law, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise to assist with patent prosecution and litigation matters, providing valuable insights and strategic support to the legal team.

Duties:

• Assist attorneys with patent prosecution and litigation matters related to electrical engineering and software.
• Analyze technical aspects of patents, including evaluating patent claims and specifications.
• Provide expert technical advice to support legal arguments in both prosecution and litigation contexts.
• Collaborate with engineers, inventors, and other technical experts to understand complex technologies.
• Prepare and review technical documents, reports, and communications for patent filings and legal proceedings.
• Conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies, including wireless communication (5G, 6G, and 3GPP standards).
• Support the legal team in case preparation, including discovery, depositions, and technical analysis for litigation.

Requirements:

• Strong technical background with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience or familiarity with wireless communication technologies (5G, 6G, 3GPP standards).
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.

Skills:

• Deep knowledge of electrical engineering and software-related technologies.
• Experience with patent prosecution and litigation processes is highly desirable.
• Expertise in wireless communication technologies, including 5G, 6G, and 3GPP standards.
• Excellent research and technical writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
