Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A respected law firm in Albany, NY, seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its expanding litigation team, with a focus on foreclosure and real estate matters. Duties:
Handle and manage a significant caseload of foreclosure matters across New York.
Oversee the progression of cases to ensure timely legal action and client updates.
Liaise with courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate case movement.
Draft, review, and execute legal pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Appear at hearings, mediations, trials, and conduct public auctions as necessary.
Evaluate title searches and identify necessary parties for service.
Maintain detailed case records in internal and client case management systems.
Participate in strategic meetings and offer case assessments and legal recommendations.
Take initiative in identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements:
Licensed to practice law in New York.
Admission to New York federal district courts or additional states is advantageous.
At least 3 years of experience in foreclosure, real estate litigation, or related fields preferred.
Familiarity with debt collection regulations (FDCPA, RESPA, TILA) is a strong plus.
Willingness to develop in foreclosure and real estate law if not already experienced.
Capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team-based environment.
Availability to travel within the state as needed.
Possession of a portable book of business is considered a plus.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active Bar membership in the State of New York.
