Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Senior eDiscovery Attorney to provide leadership and technical expertise in managing all aspects of eDiscovery in high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters. This position is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a deep understanding of the eDiscovery lifecycle, experience managing large-scale review projects, and a collaborative approach to legal technology and compliance. This role offers hybrid and remote work options in approved jurisdictions.
Location:
Duties:
Develop and execute case-specific eDiscovery strategies in collaboration with case teams and clients
Plan and oversee document collection, review workflows, and productions
Serve as liaison among vendors, clients, and legal teams for all eDiscovery matters
Manage privilege review, log creation, and QC processes
Draft and negotiate TAR, ESI, confidentiality, and scope agreements
Lead or support custodian interviews and data collection planning
Oversee and participate in meet-and-confer sessions with opposing parties or agencies
Prepare budgets and negotiate vendor contracts for discovery services
Draft responses to subpoenas and discovery requests
Stay current with trends, case law, and regulatory developments impacting eDiscovery
Educate attorneys and internal teams on eDiscovery tools, rules, and best practices
Provide strategic insight into discovery-related issues, including cross-border and data privacy concerns
Support advocacy teams with deposition prep and document review
Conduct legal research related to discovery disputes and motion practice
Handle special projects as assigned by firm leadership or litigation team leads
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in eDiscovery or litigation support
Demonstrated leadership in managing complex eDiscovery matters
Experience with Second Requests and high-stakes litigation
Strong background in working with government agencies and opposing counsel on discovery issues
Expertise with large-scale document reviews and litigation workflows
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Bar admission in the state of the designated office location or eligibility to sit for the exam
Skills:
Deep understanding of the eDiscovery lifecycle and related legal frameworks
High-level familiarity with Relativity and TAR (Technology Assisted Review) tools
Strong understanding of privilege, confidentiality, and work product doctrines
Knowledge of international data privacy laws and cross-border data transfer issues
Exceptional project management, analytical, and organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to present information clearly to legal teams, clients, and third parties
Technologically adaptable, resourceful, and proactive
