Title IX Determination Officer
The candidate acts as adjudicator for student Title IX investigations. Reviews investigation reports, examines evidence, and in some cases, conducts hearings or determination conferences to assess credibility or settle disputes of fact. Determines if a violation of policy occurred, and issues communication with rationale of the determination to the parties. The Officer conducts case analysis to identify issues and incorporates the university's student learning and development ideals while enforcing conduct standards. The Officer also acts a hearing coordinator for the Faculty Hearing Committee or staff hearing panel in faculty and staff cases of discrimination, harassment or sexual misconduct. This is an hourly position eligible for partial telework; hearing and determination conferences are conducted on site. Should have Bachelor's degree. Should have Experience managing conflict adhering to written policies and procedures. Knowledge of Title IX, Title VII, ADA and/or other anti-discrimination laws. Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and judgment. Demonstrates strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. J.D. preferred. Experience, typically two or more, in administering judicial processes or conducting hearings. Experience in university administration, specifically student judicial affairs, human resources, EO, ombuds, or similar field. Significant experience, typically more than 5 years, in Title IX, Title VII, ADA and/or other anti-discrimination laws.
