A small, well-regarded workers' compensation defense law firm in Glen Allen, VA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a range of litigation matters, primarily focused on workers' compensation cases. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 5 years of legal experience, with a preference for candidates who have worked in workers' compensation. The position requires strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, and the ability to handle cases independently. A Virginia Bar license is required.

Location:

• Glen Allen, VA

Duties:

• Represent clients in workers' compensation defense matters
• Manage cases from start to finish, including legal research, drafting pleadings, and preparing for hearings
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Perform legal research and write clear, concise memoranda and briefs
• Assist in case strategy development and provide legal advice to clients
• Participate in depositions and hearings, with the potential for trial work
• Maintain accurate case files and case management
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and client solutions

Requirements:

• 1 to 5 years of litigation experience
• Experience in workers' compensation law preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member of the Virginia State Bar (required)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities
• Litigation experience, including case management and court appearances
• Knowledge of workers' compensation law is preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
