Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented mid-level Real Estate Associate to join its practice in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers the opportunity to engage in sophisticated, high-impact work for premier clients, collaborating with partners and clients across the full real estate lifecycle.

Duties

• Structure, document, and negotiate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, leasing arrangements, and development projects.
• Draft and negotiate loan documents, operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and related contracts.
• Lead and coordinate closings, including title and survey review, due diligence, zoning and land-use analysis, and entity formation.
• Advise on construction and development matters and support ongoing operational and asset management issues.
• Mentor junior associates, manage workstreams, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of sophisticated real estate practice experience.
• Experience in acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, and development matters.
• Prior law firm experience is required.
• Lender-side financing experience is valued but not mandatory.
• Admission to, and good standing with, the State Bar of Illinois.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the State Bar of Illinois.
