Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Estate and Tax Planning Attorney. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-net-worth estate planning, with a focus on tax strategies. This position involves the creation of complex trust documents, will preparation, and providing clients with expert advice on retirement, charitable giving, and insurance planning. This opportunity is based in Latham, NY, and requires regular in-office presence.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their estate planning needs, including asset distribution strategies.
• Draft Wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
• Prepare intricate trust agreements and related documents.
• Guide clients in the areas of retirement plans, charitable contributions, and insurance options.
• Analyze client situations to form strategic estate plans tailored to their unique needs.
• Build strong relationships with clients through effective communication and personalized service.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in estate and tax planning.
• Experience with complex trust types, including Intentionally Defective Trusts (IDTs), Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Charitable Lead and Charitable Remainder Trusts, and Grantor Retained Trusts.
• Strong ability to manage multiple client matters concurrently.
• Ability to analyze complex legal and financial matters with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficiency in handling sensitive and confidential client information.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar or ability to obtain admission within a reasonable timeframe.
