Job Overview: A reputable law firm located in Albany, NY is seeking a Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in estate planning and estate/trust administration, with a focus on high-net-worth tax and estate planning, wealth preservation, charitable giving, and business succession. The role involves working with a diverse range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and corporate trust departments, providing tailored legal solutions across various practice areas.

Duties:

• Draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and Living Wills.
• Managed estate and trust administration, including appearances in the Surrogate’s Court.
• Assist in high-net-worth tax planning, including wealth preservation strategies, tax analysis, charitable giving structures, and business succession planning.
• Collaborate with attorneys from different practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions to clients.
• Conduct legal research and draft detailed legal documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth processes.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 2-5 years of experience in trusts and estates law.
• Have experience in estate planning and estate and trust administration with an interest in high net-worth tax and estate planning, wealth preservation, charitable giving, and business succession planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
