Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Defense Litigation Associate in Atlanta, GA. This role offers the opportunity to engage in varied and complex litigation, working alongside experienced attorneys. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of cases, primarily defending professional liability, premises, coverage, and employment matters.

Duties

• Manage claims and cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct client meetings and analyze claims to recommend defense strategies.
• Research and draft persuasive legal briefs.
• Plan and execute discovery processes.
• Interview witnesses and conduct depositions.
• Present motions at oral hearings.
• Conduct settlement conferences and mediations.
• Prepare and brief appeals.
• Participate in client marketing activities and conferences.

Requirements

• Active Georgia license in good standing.
• 3-5 years' experience in defense litigation; insurance defense experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and research skills.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a drive to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Georgia State Bar.
