Labor and Employment Associate Attorney

A law firm in Indianapolis is seeking a partner-track Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of substantive experience in employment litigation defense and counseling. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple offices. Duties:

• Defend employers in employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage-and-hour disputes, and wrongful termination cases.
• Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on employment-related issues, including compliance with labor laws and regulations.
• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and client advisories.
• Collaborate with attorneys in other offices to manage cases and meet client needs.
• Conduct legal research and analysis of employment law issues.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of substantive experience in employment litigation defense and counseling.
• Strong academic credentials with a proven track record of success.
• Excellent legal writing, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple offices and with a collaborative legal team.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in the State of Indiana (required) or eligibility for admission to the Indiana Bar.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Strong litigation skills, including legal research, drafting, and argumentation.
• Ability to provide sound legal advice on labor and employment issues.
