Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Counsel-level attorney to join its Private Wealth Department in Los Angeles (Century City). This role focuses on advising high net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer strategies. The ideal candidate will bring at least six years of experience from a well-regarded Trusts & Estates practice and demonstrate a deep understanding of sophisticated estate planning techniques and client service.

Duties:
Advise high net-worth clients on estate planning, trust structuring, and wealth transfer strategies
Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and other related instruments
Oversee the administration of large estates and trusts
Provide guidance on charitable giving and philanthropic planning strategies
Collaborate with fiduciaries, tax professionals, and financial advisors to develop and implement estate plans
Monitor changes in estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws to inform clients accordingly
Support the development of junior attorneys and assist in practice development initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in high net-worth estate planning and administration
Prior experience with a nationally or regionally recognized Trusts & Estates practice
Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality legal counsel
Experience with charitable planning is preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in good standing in California, or eligibility to waive in
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws
Excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to client service
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage complex matters and provide strategic legal solutions
