Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Counsel-level attorney to join its Private Wealth Department in Los Angeles (Century City). This role focuses on advising high net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer strategies. The ideal candidate will bring at least six years of experience from a well-regarded Trusts & Estates practice and demonstrate a deep understanding of sophisticated estate planning techniques and client service.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Advise high net-worth clients on estate planning, trust structuring, and wealth transfer strategies

• Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and other related instruments

• Oversee the administration of large estates and trusts

• Provide guidance on charitable giving and philanthropic planning strategies

• Collaborate with fiduciaries, tax professionals, and financial advisors to develop and implement estate plans

• Monitor changes in estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws to inform clients accordingly

• Support the development of junior attorneys and assist in practice development initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in high net-worth estate planning and administration

• Prior experience with a nationally or regionally recognized Trusts & Estates practice

• Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality legal counsel

• Experience with charitable planning is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in good standing in California, or eligibility to waive in

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws

• Excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills

• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to client service

• High attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage complex matters and provide strategic legal solutions
