A respected law firm specializing in creditor’s rights is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its growing legal team in Newport, KY. This position is focused on retail consumer collections and civil litigation, and it is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented legal professional with 1–3 years of relevant experience. The role requires courtroom advocacy, legal strategy development, and close collaboration with legal teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Regional travel to courts across Ohio is expected.

Location:

• Newport, KY

Duties:

• Represent clients in court for consumer collections matters

• Develop and implement litigation strategies for assigned cases

• Prepare pleadings and legal documents

• Manage dockets and ensure timely case progression

• Negotiate settlements with defendants and opposing counsel

• Defend against counterclaims and handle escalated litigation matters

• Monitor legal and regulatory changes and share knowledge with team members

• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure compliance and efficiency

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in creditor’s rights or civil litigation

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a deadline-driven environment

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Ability to travel regionally for court appearances

• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the Ohio State Bar

Skills:
