Job Overview: A law firm based in Uniondale, NY, seeks an experienced Tax Attorney to provide comprehensive guidance on various federal, state, and local business tax matters. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in advising clients on tax issues related to partnerships/LLCs, corporations, business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, real property investments, and business succession planning.

Duties:

• Advise clients on federal, state, and local business tax issues about partnerships/LLCs and corporations.
• Assist clients with business structuring and formation, including choice of entity considerations.
• Guide mergers and acquisitions from a tax perspective.
• Offer expertise on tax implications of investments in real property.
• Develop strategies for business succession planning to minimize tax liabilities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience advising clients on federal, state, and local business tax issues.
• Experience in business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, real property investments, and business succession planning.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• LL.M. degree in tax is a plus.
• Active membership in the New York Bar in good standing.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• LL.M. degree in tax (preferred).

Skills:

• Proficiency in federal, state, and local business tax laws.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex tax issues.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey tax strategies to clients.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A detail-oriented approach is needed to ensure accuracy in tax planning and documentation.
