Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney for the General Liability practice group in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing, research, and litigation skills and be licensed in New York, with a preference for Connecticut licensure as well.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in General Liability; Insurance Defense Litigation experience is a plus.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.
• Prompt response to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.
