Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established civil litigation law firm in Providence, RI, is seeking two experienced Associate Attorneys to join their dynamic team. The position primarily focuses on insurance and medical malpractice defense, providing an opportunity to handle a wide range of litigation matters. Duties:

• Manage litigation cases independently from inception to resolution, under the guidance of a senior partner.
• Prepare and attend hearings, depositions, trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct detailed document reviews.
• Stay on top of case status and provide timely updates.
• Perform legal research on complex legal issues.
• Communicate and collaborate professionally with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Work collaboratively with peers, paralegals, and office staff to ensure efficient case handling.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in private firm litigation, preferably in insurance and medical malpractice defense.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with legal research tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Experience with an Amicus Attorney is a plus.
• RI and MA Bar admission required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in RI and MA.

• Expertise in civil litigation procedures.
• Strong case management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases concurrently while adhering to deadlines.
