Job Overview:
A law firm located in Fresno, CA, is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing legal team. This role presents a valuable entry point into removal defense and family-based immigration work, providing hands-on experience with court proceedings, legal strategy, and direct client representation. Duties:

• Deliver tailored legal advice to individuals navigating complex immigration processes

• Appear in front of Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals for both detained and non-detained matters

• Conduct legal intake for individuals housed in detention centers

• Draft and file applications related to removal defense and family-sponsored immigration benefits

• Review and revise immigration petitions for accuracy and completeness

• Work alongside external partners such as law enforcement, prosecutors, and advocacy groups to stay current on immigration policy shifts

• Perform consultations to assess eligibility and identify legal remedies

• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS interviews

• Draft legal briefs and support documents for a variety of case types

• Maintain case progression through case management tools and timely follow-ups

Requirements:

• Admission to the Bar (candidates awaiting bar results may also be considered)

• Demonstrated commitment to immigration law through academic clinics, internships, or pro bono service

• The capacity to independently manage multiple cases

• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and staff

• Strong oral and written communication abilities

• Comfortable engaging with diverse communities and client populations

• Spanish language skills are a plus

• Familiarity with legal case management software is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with a State Bar in the United States
