Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Amsterdam, NY, with a well-established and expanding practice in real estate and creditors' rights, is seeking a qualified associate attorney. The role offers opportunities to work on complex litigation, bankruptcy, and creditor rights issues in a collaborative and professional environment.

Duties:

• Manage a substantial caseload within the field of creditor's rights, including litigation and bankruptcy matters.
• Represent clients in court appearances and hearings, with occasional travel required.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including depositions, and resolve disputes effectively.
• Assist in appellate practice and legal research.
• Provide expert advice on legal matters, particularly in areas of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
• Foster relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to enhance the firm’s reputation and business development.
• Contribute to the growth of the firm through leadership and proactive industry involvement.

Requirements:

• Active membership in the Missouri Bar or eligibility to obtain membership in Missouri federal district and bankruptcy courts.
• 5+ years of litigation experience preferred, though newly licensed attorneys are welcome to apply.
• Experience handling high-volume case loads, with a strong focus on creditor's rights.
• Knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage client relationships and navigate complex legal challenges with sound judgment.
• Willingness to work collaboratively and mentor junior team members.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Missouri State Bar is required.
• Additional Bar licenses are a plus.
