Job Title: General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in Saint Louis, MO, is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented associate attorney with a focus on general liability defense. Duties:

• Evaluate legal files and assess liability, damages, and potential exposure

• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft substantive motions, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs

• Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests

• Represent clients at depositions, court hearings, arbitrations, and other proceedings

• Participate in expert witness selection and preparation

• Prepare comprehensive trial strategies and attend trials as required

• Maintain an annual billable target of 1950 hours

• Collaborate with internal team members to develop case strategies

• Participate in regular case status reviews and updates

• Occasional travel may be necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in general liability litigation (experience in other civil litigation areas is advantageous)

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri (additional bar admissions are considered an asset)

• Strong research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines

• High responsiveness to client and team communications

• Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team

• Professional demeanor and client-focused attitude

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Missouri State Bar

• Admission to other State Bar is beneficial

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research tools and litigation management software

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Critical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities
