Profile

Growing Dallas office of a multi-state boutique defense litigation firm specializing in complex litigation has an immediate need for a mid-level lateral associate (5-9 years).

Qualifications:

-Heavy insurance defense litigation background

-Experience in products liability, trucking/transportation, catastrophic injury and premise liability necessary, additional experience in insurance coverage and/or employment law is a bonus!

-J.D. from accredited law school and license to practice in Texas

-Experience in analyzing, reviewing, editing, and drafting legal documents as well as superior logical reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical skills

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Attention to detail and willingness to adhere to longstanding firm protocols

Responsibilities:

-Manage litigation and case defense from start to finish in a high-volume practice

-Must be able to immediately assume mature friles

-Take and defend depositions (heavy deposition experience is required)

-Prepare and respond to discovery

-Prepare and present witnesses

-Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, etc.

-Draft pleadings, motions and briefs with the accompanying research expertise

-Evaluate case strengths and weaknesses and be able to place valuation on the various claims

-Prepare legal opinions for clients
