Job Overview
A leading law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of expertise in eDiscovery to join its team. The role involves advising case teams and clients on all aspects of discovery, from preservation to production, and includes responsibilities in pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial preparation when applicable. The Senior Discovery Attorney will work alongside attorneys, technologists, and clients to create efficient and defensible eDiscovery workflows aimed at risk mitigation and cost control. Additionally, the role will involve overseeing the work of junior attorneys, project teams, and service providers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients throughout all stages of the eDiscovery process, including preservation, processing, review, and production.
  • Assist with pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial support.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to design and implement tailored eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Oversee the quality of work produced by junior attorneys, project attorneys, and service providers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility throughout the discovery process.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of employment.
  • Deep knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex discovery workflows and deliver strategic advice in litigation matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery certifications, such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, particularly in the context of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity tools.
  • Expertise with Relativity (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality assurance and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
