A law firm seeks an Associate Bankruptcy Attorney in Cranford, NJ. This hybrid/remote position allows work from regional offices in PA, NJ, NY, or DE. The role involves managing bankruptcy and lending client case portfolios. Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of bankruptcy experience, including drafting pleadings and court appearances.

Duties

• Draft legal pleadings, notices of hearings, motions, and orders.
• Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, and legal articles.
• Update case management system to ensure data integrity.
• Travel to court and client sites as necessary.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients and internal staff.
• Identify legal issues requiring additional review.
• Manage a high volume of files with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and court appearances.
• Review and correct case work prepared by paralegals.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• New Jersey Bar Admission required; PA or NY admission a bonus.
• 1-3 years of bankruptcy court and litigation experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic case management systems; CaseAware a plus.
• Knowledge of laws, legal codes, and court procedures.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact and collaborate with clients and employees at all levels.
• Flexible, self-directed, and motivated.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Valid Driver's License.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• New Jersey Bar Admission required.
