Job Description:

Duties:

• Provide regulatory advice and counsel to clients in the energy industry, including electricity, utilities, and renewables.
• Represent clients in regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
• Handle regulation of utilities at both state and federal levels.
• Negotiate power purchase agreements and other contracts on behalf of energy companies and large industrial users.
• Manage and develop client relationships, providing exceptional client service.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support firm initiatives and client needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
• Contribute to the firm's business development efforts through networking and client engagement.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the energy industry.
• Proven regulatory experience in energy, particularly in electricity, utilities, and renewables.
• Extensive experience working with clients in the energy industry on regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
• Demonstrated experience in the regulation of utilities at both state and federal levels.
• Strong background in representing energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Proficient in handling litigation, regulatory, and legislative matters for the energy and/or extractive industries.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the bar.
