Associate Attorney General Commercial Litigation

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney for a full-time position in its Mount Laurel, NJ office. The ideal candidate will have a background in handling general commercial litigation matters, including insurance defense and business litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial litigation cases and provides valuable experience in all stages of litigation.

Duties:

• Manage general commercial litigation cases from start to finish, including conducting research, drafting legal documents, and making strategic recommendations.
• Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including objections and motions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for litigation cases.
• Conduct legal research to support case preparation and litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with other attorneys on team assignments while also managing individual case responsibilities.
• Maintain client communications and case updates, ensuring timely responses and deliverables.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in general commercial litigation, including insurance defense and business litigation.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with experience utilizing electronic discovery and legal databases.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple cases and deadlines.
• Proven written and oral communication skills, with experience preparing legal documents and representing clients in legal settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and client management software.
• A proactive self-starter with the ability to take ownership of cases and drive them to completion.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
• Proficiency in managing discovery and utilizing electronic tools for case management.
• Ability to handle client communications effectively and professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing a caseload.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
